This page shows a number of underwater photos that were taken with my Sony DSC-T1, using only the on-camera flash (ie. no external strobes). All photos were taken during a vacation in St. Lucia, February 2005, and are my first attempts at underwater photography.

It shows before and after versions of each picture, demonstrating the sometimes dramatic improvement that can be acheived by applying a Mandrake technique to colour correct the lost red/orange hues and reduce the typical blue/green tint that underwater photos have.

There is a great Photoshop CS action posted on the Adobe site, from James Connell, that implements a good version of the Mandrake technique for removing blue/green from underwater pictures. You can find it here. You'll need an Adobe login (free) to get it.
